The Panama City Bay County International Airport (PFN) is the only major international airport that serves Bay County owned and operated by the Panama City Bay County Airport and Industrial District (The Airport Authority). The Airport Authority is an Independent Special District created by the Florida Legislature. The Airport Authority owns the airport grounds, runway and taxiway system, terminal building, various other buildings and hangars on the field and the road connections to the city roadway system. The Airport has its own police and fire departments.
The airport makes many important contributions to the area's economy through direct employment (1,935 jobs), payroll ($43,351,800), sales and tax revenue impacts (a total of $137,747,200).
